According to Madison County Court documents a home located at 1031 Flynn Branch Road in Marshall, North Carolina suffered extensive landslide damage during the rain storms of September 2004.
The property in question was 30% complete before the slope failure on September 16, 2004. "Based upon the advice of several engineering experts...it appeared the structure would have to be removed and soil properly compacted before any repairs could be made, and/or before remaining work to the structure could be completed."
